GRID INTELLIGENCE
LABORATORY
An interactive exploration of energy infrastructure, thermal memory and human-supervised AI architecture.
HENNA AI ENERGY SYSTEMS DIGITAL TWIN V1.0Simulated Energy Network
Manage a simplified electricity system. Introduce a disturbance, inspect the energy balance and evaluate HENNA's proposed response.
Energy Environment
Thermal reserve represents stored heat, not electricity. Electrical output requires a conversion device.
HENNA AI
Human-supervised Energy Network Neural Architecture
HENNA V1 uses a transparent, deterministic decision engine. No external AI model or live control connection.
Sand + Biochar Battery
Conceptual high-temperature thermal storage. Stored heat can support dispatchable electricity through a modeled heat-engine conversion stage.
Illustrative engineering assumptions only. The physical performance of the proposed storage medium and conversion system has not been validated.
Event & Decision Log
Simulation advances manually. Energy consumption is calculated using a 15-minute interval.
Architecture Review
Explore the logical separation between advisory intelligence, operational authorization and physical safety controls.
Analysis / Recommendations / Explanation
Human decision / Approval / Audit trail
Validation / Dispatch constraints / Interlocks
Generation / Storage / Demand flexibility
Heat storage / Stirling conversion
Sensors / Actuators / Energy assets
Protection systems, emergency shutdown and equipment safety remain outside AI authority.
Architecture Principles
1. Advisory AI does not directly control critical assets.
2. Operational changes require authorization.
3. Safety constraints override optimization.
4. Decisions are logged for review.
5. System components use explicit interfaces.
6. AI failure must not disable independent protection.
Model Limitations
This prototype uses aggregate active-power accounting. It does not model grid frequency, inertia, voltage, reactive power, transmission constraints, reserve-market activation, protection coordination or actual Finnish grid topology.
