BUILD THE
THERMODYNAMIC
CIVILIZATION.
An open engineering environment where anyone can design, simulate and evolve an interconnected industrial ecosystem.
NOT JUST A GAME.
A LIVING SYSTEM.
You don't win by accumulating money. You win by building a system that can sustain life, energy, knowledge and itself.
Nothing is generated from nothing. Every joule has a history.
SEVEN LAYERS.
ONE OPERATING SYSTEM.

The House Remembers Heat.
Sand, biochar and ceramic infrastructure store and transfer useful thermal energy.
- Thermal capacity and temperature
- Heat transfer and insulation losses
- Charging and discharging cycles
OPERATE THE
THERMAL CIVILIZATION.
Choose an operating strategy and advance the simulation. Can you maintain essential services for seven simulated days?
Educational lumped-parameter model. All values are illustrative assumptions, not validated equipment performance or engineering design specifications.
Outside temperature: −25°C
Essential thermal demand: 0.65 MW
Essential electrical demand: 0.12 MW
Thermal standing loss: 0.02% of stored heat per hour
Prioritize essential heating and electricity. Non-essential production is suspended.
RIITTA MODE
Maintain essential services for 168 hours without a critical supply failure.
+ INSPECT THE SIMULATION CALCULATIONS
This educational model uses one-hour integration steps.
Thermal storage:
Q(t+1) = Q(t) + recovered heat − delivered heat − standing losses
Electric storage:
E(t+1) = E(t) + electrical generation − electrical demand
Biomass:
M(t+1) = M(t) − processed biomass
Biomass is assumed to contain 4 MWh of recoverable chemical energy per tonne on the chosen illustrative accounting basis.
Illustrative operating assumptions:
WINTER: no biomass processing; 0.65 MW thermal demand; 0.12 MW electrical demand.
PRODUCTION: 0.10 tonnes biomass processed per hour; 75% of feed energy delivered as heat;
0.90 MW total thermal demand; 0.22 MW electrical demand.
RIITTA: 0.04 tonnes biomass processed per hour; 75% of feed energy delivered as heat;
0.65 MW thermal demand; 0.12 MW electrical demand.
Thermal-to-electric conversion is not included in this miniature preview. Electricity is supplied by the initial electrical reserve; there is no assumed external generation or electricity imported from an undeclared source.
Demand is served only while sufficient reserves remain. The engine records unserved energy and flags a critical failure rather than allowing negative inventories. Any thermal input exceeding the storage capacity is recorded as rejected heat.
This preview does not establish real-world system feasibility. Equipment sizing, thermal gradients, pyrolysis yields, carbon balances, heat-engine performance and continuous biomass supply require separate models.
